Young Entrepreneurs Business Week programs are designed to be progressive in nature. Students who wish to return as alumni have the option of joining our year round Alumni Ambassador Program and return for a two additional years of programs, Investing Week and Social Entrepreneurship Week.
Alumni Ambassador Program
If you chose to participate as an Ambassador you will:
• Be one of our special guests at the annual Oregon Entrepreneurs Network Award Dinner at the Portland Convention Center (www.oen.org)
• Receive individualized speech and presentation coaching
• Receive letters of recommendation sure make your college applications sparkle
• Be recognized on our website as an Alumni Ambassador
Investing Week
In life it is essential to be aware of, how to appropriately manage your personal finances and plan for your future ensuring personal economic stability. Contrary to what the economy may be doing, providing students with an immersive experience, which will empower them to not be at the mercy of outside forces is the key mission of Investing Week.
Students participating in Investing Week will learn about basic investment vehicles and the principles of evaluating a potential investment. Students will also learn how to understand the financial market system and how it affects their personal and business life. Students will be assigned a role as a Junior Analyst with "Toots, Toots and Peabody" and critically assess the benefits and strengths of individual investment vehicles.
In addition, students are afforded insight through lecture, guest speakers and discussions into the world of Investing & Financial Planning.
Apprentice Week
Students who still can't get enough and yes you will become addicted, can participate in Apprentice Week, which gives students the opportunity experience first hand, how to build a successful, viable and sustainable start-up.
In any career it is essential that employees, managers, and owners conduct themselves with the highest degree of professional integrity. This opportunity provides students with an immersive experience, within in which students seriously consider responsible business practices. In addition, from an entrepreneurial prospective, students have the opportunity to explore ways in which real social change is being conducted worldwide. Topics include evaluating entrepreneurial capabilities, creativity and innovation, opportunity assessment, impression management, responsible business practices and business plan creation and implementation.
Students participating in Apprentice Week will learn what it takes to implement a real life business. Profit from the business started during the week will be re-invested in the business and in micro-enterprises in economically depressed communities and/or countries.
